Do you ever find yourself missing bits of conversation at a noisy restaurant, family dinner, or work meeting? Nuance Audio Glasses might be worth a look. They’re a genuine 2-in-1: prescription glasses with hearing support built into the frame, but they don’t look anything like a hearing aid. We’re proud to be one of the first opticians in Australia to offer them, with a pair now available to try at our Narellan store.

How they work

Instead of a plastic earpiece, Nuance Audio Glasses have tiny speakers and directional microphones built into the frame, controlled through a simple companion app. The technology focuses on the voice in front of you and turns down background noise, so conversations come through clearer without anyone knowing you’re wearing anything more than a nice pair of glasses.

  • Discreet, open-ear design that looks and wears like a normal pair of glasses, with no earpiece or dangling wires

  • No audiogram or hearing test needed to get started. Four preset sound configurations, plus adjustable volume and noise reduction, let us tune them to you on the spot

  • Directional microphones focus on the voice in front of you and cut background noise, with presets for focused vs. all-around listening, adjustable through the companion app

  • Available in Square (54/56) and Panthos (48) shapes, in Black, Burgundy or Blue, with Transitions light-responsive lenses as standard (prescription lenses available through our optometrists)

  • Wireless charging pad included, with 8 hours of battery life, splash resistant, and recharges in around 3 hours

  • Best suited to mild-to-moderate hearing loss. Not designed for tinnitus or for use alongside an existing hearing aid

Is it right for you?

Nuance Audio Glasses aren’t a replacement for a full hearing aid if you have significant hearing loss, but for everyday mild to moderate difficulty following conversations, especially in noisy places, they’re a genuinely easy first step.
