Eye Concepts Services
Our first store opened in Fairfield in 2009 with the mission to provide the best possible healthcare in the local community. We are now a trusted optometrist across 10 different locations, carrying on the same passion and dedication in each location. Explore the range of services our team offers at our Birkenhead Point location below.
All Eye Concept stores provide bulk-billed eye examinations to help stay on top of your eye health care. That means eligible individuals over the age of 65 can have these costs covered once every year, while other Medicare holders can have an eye exam without any out of pocket expenses once every three years. We’re using our digital devices more and more, but it can lead to discomforts like tired and dry eyes, or even headaches and trouble sleeping. Causes of digital eye strain include blue light, reduced blinking rate, repetitive eye movement and uncorrected vision problems. At Eye Concepts Birkenhead Point, we provide a number of lens solutions to help prevent digital eye strain.
If you need vision correction but don’t like wearing spectacles, we also have a wide range of contact lenses available. However, to get you started, you need a contact lens fitting consultation in addition to the standard eye examination. This is to make sure your lenses are properly fitted, avoiding any issues and making the transition as smooth as possible.
Macula Degeneration Assessment
Macula is an essential part of your eye’s anatomy, but with age it can lose its function making it the most common cause for age-related poor eyesight. The macula plays a large role in accepting sharp images for the brain to process. In a macula degeneration assessment your optometrist will create a vision care plan which will maximise your eyesight for longer. Having an assessment as early as possible when you reach your 60’s will open yourself to more treatment options.
Ortho-K or orthokeratology is a treatment mostly suitable for young people with progressive myopia or nearsightedness, but some adults can benefit from ortho-k too. It’s a non-surgical treatment that can help sharpen your sight during the day using a type of overnight lens that helps to reshape the cornea. If you or your child are experiencing symptoms of myopia/short sightedness, it’s key to visit your optometrist promptly for a comprehensive examination. Why not book today to see our optometrist at Birkenhead Point?
As a parent you want the best for your child, which is why it’s key to be aware of the importance of your child’s eye health growing up. Sight is essential in discovering the world around them and undetected problems can lead to learning difficulties and even permanent vision loss later in life.
