Eye Concepts Services

At Eye Concepts Burwood we are committed to making sure local communities are getting the best possible vision care they need. No matter what stage of life you’re at, we can offer the most suitable eye care services. Explore below all services this expert optometrist can provide:

Bulk Billing Eye-Test

We offer bulk billed eye tests at all of our locations, including our Burwood location, and Medicare recipients are eligible to receive standard eye examinations with no out of pocket expenses. Medicare will cover the complete cost of a comprehensive eye examination for individuals under the age of 65 once every three years, while recipients over the age of 65 will have their costs covered once every year.

Digital Eye Strain Relief

We are using all kinds of digital devices from early morning until late at night for both recreational and work purposes. Causes of digital eye strain include blue light, reduced blinking rate, repetitive eye movement and uncorrected vision problems. At Eye Concepts Burwood, we provide a number of lens solutions to help prevent digital eye strain.

Contact Lens Fitting

Contact lenses are an alternative for vision correction other than glasses. The examination for contact lenses is actually quite different than the exam needed for glasses. A contact lens fitting consultation is required in addition to a standard eye examination. Improperly fitted contact lenses can lead to serious problems with your eye health, so we’re here to help make sure that won’t happen.

Macula Degeneration Assessment

Macula Degeneration is the most common cause for age-related poor eyesight because as we grow older, this essential part of the eye’s anatomy loses its function. The macula plays a large role in accepting sharp images for the brain to process. In a macula degeneration assessment your optometrist will create a vision care plan which will maximise your eyesight for longer. Having an assessment as early as possible when you reach your 60s will open yourself to more treatment options.

Ortho-K Overnight Lenses

Orhto-K or orthokeratology is a form of overnight contact lens that helps to reshape the cornea as a non-surgical option for people who struggle with myopia/short sightedness. With Ortho-K people can experience clear vision in the daytime without the use of prescription glasses or contact lenses. It’s important to visit your optometrist immediately for a comprehensive examination if you are experiencing symptoms of myopia/short sightedness. Early interventions such as Ortho-K is essential in preventing long term eye-sight problems.

Children’s Eye Health

The eyes are conductive to socialising, reading emotions and language development, so maintaining good eye health is essential in children. There are symptoms you can look out for in your children. You should have your child’s eyes tested from the age of 3, and every 2-3 years as they go through school.
